Canvas Transfers is a relatively new art medium favored by artist and publishers to market their prints. A Can vas transfer has the feel and the look of an original oil painting. This enables the art to carry a more elegant frame. The glare projected by the reflection of the glass of a traditionally framed print is not existent. Canvas transfer are made by removing the image of print through a chemical process and than mounting this image on high quality artist canvas in a way that the texture of the canvas comes through making it look like the image is painted on the canvas. Certain Guidelines should be reviewed to ensure complete satisfaction from photo transfer to canvas. To ensure the best reproduction possible, the condition of original photograph is critical. The original photograph should be a minimum print size of 2 ½”x 3 ½” and a maximum of 8”x10” but the best is 8”x10”.

Crisp, Clean Photographs – Clean, undamaged photographic prints make the best reproductions. Centered Object – Ideally, the subjects being reproduced should be centered on your original photograph. As with most photographic enlargements, may require “ positioning” or “ cropping”. If the Subjects in picture are not centered, portions of the main subject may be lost when reproduced. Contrast – A void excessive light or dark photographs. Electronic Prints – Prints with an “ Electronic Prints” warning will not reproduce well. Color Photocopies – Color Copies may not reproduce well on canvas. High Speed Film – Prints shot with high-speed film greater than ASA 200 may promote graininess and may not reproduce well on canvas. Copyright Protected Prints – Prints displaying any of the following warnings will be rejected without express written consent: “Do not Reproduce, Do Not Copy, Copyright protected Image, Etc…” Reproduction consent forms are available. Polaroid Pictures – Polaroid prints will not reproduce well.
